Broad Oak Preschool Management Committee

Our preschool is a committee led setting, which means that a group of committee members have a legal duty to help oversee and manage the setting along with the preschool manager. The role of the committee is to govern the setting, provide strategic advice and support to the manager, and act in the best interests of the children. Committee-led childcare providers are usually managed by a committee of parent volunteers, who together form the trustees of the charity. They take on the role of the Ofsted 'registered person' and are registered with the charities commission.

Please note that committee-led childcare providers are subject to suitability checks by Ofsted. These checks include Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check  and ‘Known to Ofsted’ check. Therefore, a safer recruitment process of committee members is carried to safeguard children and committee training is offered.
